Taylor Swift has stepped out with her close friend Ashley Avignone for an outing in New York City and fans are noticing a major change in the global popstar’s appearance.

The Starlight crooner and her friend who was featured in the 22 music video and Jerrod Carmichael were all spotted out and about but it was the former’s look that sparked a lot of buzz online.

In pictures, the soon-to-be bride donned a black spaghetti-strap top, which she later layered under a black coat, and a champagne-colored skirt with a satin finish.

The So High School singer also wore her signature red lip after swapping it out for a pink shade at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Taylor also sported chic jewelry and accessories and wore her golden locks in an updo, and the hair unexpectedly stole the show as it became the topic of debate on social media.

Internet users took to X to remark, “Do we need a f**kin article to start acknowledging the fact that she's brunette now or...” as another added, “WHYS SHE BRUNETTE NOW.”

Others debunked the brunette rumours writing, “She’s just rocking her natural colour, it darkens as she ages and she doesn’t get any lightning treatments,” and “in her Elizabeth Taylor era however I think it's just at night so the lighting made her blonde hair look like that.”
