Sarah Ferguson has been caught up in a crisis as Prince Andrew renounced his titles, including the Duke of York.
While many scrutnise the Prince’s decision, it has been revealed that his former wife stands with him despite the backlash.
Andrew relinquished his titles on October 17 after a discussion with King Charles as the scandal surrounding him was damaging the royal family.
Previously, Andrew had already ceased to be a “working royal”.
It comes at a time when Andrew’s accuser Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous autobiography is set to launch next week.
A royal source told Hello! Magazine that Sarah “will always support her former husband's decisions.”
The source revealed Sarah is comfortable with Andrew’s decision at a time when she herself faces backlash for her ties with convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein.
“For her this will not make a big difference.”, the source reported.
Virginia’s book, that she co-wrote with Amy Wallace, includes her retelling of her encounters with Andrew.
In December 2014, Virginia described being trafficked to the Duke of York, at least three times.
In his statement, Andrew reiterated that he denies the accusations.
