Buckingham Palace issued key details about King Charles and Queen Camilla's upcoming foreign visit, asking fans to keep an eye on further updates.
On October 17, the royal family's official social media channel confirmed that the royal couple will be undertaking a State Visit to the Holy See from 22nd to 23rd October 2025.
As per the detailed statement, the King and Queen will join Pope Leo XIV to celebrate the 2025 Jubilee Year, which is celebrated traditionally every 25 years. It is a special time for the Catholic Church.
The message further reads, "Programme highlights include: The King and Queen will meet Pope Leo XIV in the Apostolic Palace."
Charles and Camilla, alongside the Pope, will take part in a special ecumenical service in the Sistine Chapel. The theme of the event will be "Care for Creation," reflecting Pope Leo's and King Charles' commitment to nature.
Moreover, the King and Queen will visit the Papal Basilica of St. Paul's Outside the Walls.
Notably, King Charles attended a reception at The Pontifical Beda College, a seminary which trains priests from across the Commonwealth."
On the other hand, Queen Camilla "will meet Catholic Sisters from The International Union of Superiors General, who are working around the world at the grassroots level to help tackle violence against women and girls."
It is important to note that King Charles' tour was announced amid a crisis faced by the royals due to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's email scandal.
