Queen Elizabeth’s wedding souvenir is set to be auctioned after 77 years of the royal event.

On November 20, 1947, then-Princess Elizabeth, who was the eldest daughter of the British monarch of the time, George VI, and his wife Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, married Prince Philip.

The royal wedding of the future queen took place at at Westminster Abbey.

Many mementos since the grand wedding including handwritten notes, wedding gift lists and even bridesmaid dresses have since been auctioned.

Now, the most unexpected item form the wedding is set to be sold.

A piece of the wedding cake has been put up for auction by Hanson's Auctioneers.

The royal couple’s wedding included a mammoth 500lb cake and a slice form the cake is still preserved which has been reduced to crumbs over the last 77 years.

The slice was originally given to Cyril Dickman who world closely with the queen as well as late Princess Diana.

The four tier, nine feet tall and weighing 500lb cake became the center of attention at the Buckingham Palace.

It was was made with 80 oranges, 660 eggs, and more than three gallons of navy rum.

Recently, another slice form the said cake was sold for £3,000 in July 2025.
