David Beckham has once again shown where his royal loyalties lie, and fans are calling it a subtle but powerful show of support for Prince William and Princess Kate.
Last week, royal watchers spotted a quiet nod of admiration from the Beckhams in Victoria’s new Netflix documentary.
In one clip filmed at the couple’s Cotswolds estate, David, who was knighted earlier this year, is seen proudly giving a tour of his garden.
Among the flower beds is a special touch: a rose plant labeled “Rosa. William and Catherine.”
The bloom, created by horticulturist David Austin in 2011, was named in honor of the royal couple’s wedding.
The timing is telling as Kate Middleton had just been photographed wearing a Victoria Beckham outfit the same week the designer’s docuseries premiered on Netflix, sparking talk of mutual support between the two households.
David has long been open about his affection for the royals, telling the World Economic Forum earlier this year: “Whenever the Prince of Wales sends me a message and says, ‘I need you,’ it’s always a yes.”
