Cassie Ventura has expressed her fear ahead of her former partner and convicted rapper Diddy’s sentencing.
American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was on trial from May to July as he faced charges of assault, trafficking and racketeering claimed by multiple women, including Cassie.
In July, the hip-hop mogul was convicted on two out of 5 charges he was facing. His sentencing was scheduled for October 3.
Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, famously known as Cassie, dated the disgraced rapper on and off from 2007 to 2018 and testified against him during the trial.
The 38-year-old wrote a three-page victim impact statement ahead of her former partner’s sentencing later this week.
In the letter, Cassie urged Judge Arun Sibramanian to consider a punishment that reflects “the reality of the evidence and my lived experience as a victim”.
In her testimony, Cassie stated that she was forced to participate in Diddy’s infamous “freak offs”.
The letter obtained by Rolling Stone revealed her request saying “For four days in May, while nine months pregnant with my son, I testified in front of a packed courtroom about the most traumatic and horrifying chapter in my life.”
Expressing about her fears, she wrote “I am so scared that if he walks free, his first actions will be swift retribution towards me and others who spoke up about his abuse at trial.”
Yes, according to Cassie’s testimony, Diddy dated both women at the same time, but the former talent direct kept his relationship with the model under wraps.
