Taylor Swift describes her new era, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

Pop sensation Taylor Swift talked about her fans’ expectations for her new era after the release of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The Grammy-winner’s new album is expected to come out on October 3, and ahead of its release, Swift is leaving a few easter eggs for hyped-up fans.

Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl will also include exclusive photocards and poems tied to the era.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, a video circulating on Instagram showed the Lover singer gushing about her “extraordinary” album shoot with Martin Marcus.

Swift admitted she loved the photo shoot so much that she ended up releasing more photos than she initially planned.

“I just wanted the fans to have as many images from this sort of world, this album era, as possible,” Swift said in the video. “And so I really spent a lot of time figuring out how I could make the best vinyl product and the best packaging and the best CD experience that they could have.”

“So we've got—the CDs all have photo cards in them, the vinyls each have a poem inside of them, a unique poem,” she continued. “They've got more images than we ever planned to put in there.”

Swift also disclosed the different details of the album, including its “high-gloss finish,” a design choice she’d “never done before” and one she thought was perfect for channelling the spark of a showgirl.

“I think we wanted this album to feel really luxurious,” Swift explained. “And kind of as a nod to the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she's onstage.”

“Meanwhile, like in the quick-change room, she's like [heaving],” she joked. “Maybe that's just me. I don't know.”
