Sombr took the stage on Coachella night two to perform a sunset show at the Outdoor Theatre, with fans spilling over on all sides.
The singer, whose real name is Shane Boose, appeared wearing a studded leather jacket which was bedazzled with a “77” on the back, donning it over a see-through lacy top and leather pants as he kicked off his set with one of his latest tracks, Homewrecker.
During the performance, the 12 to 12 singer introduced his special guest by saying that it was their first time at the festival.
Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins then came out to join in on a cover of his band’s mid-’90s alt-rock hit 1979, which has been a trending song on social media platforms recently.
Sombr and the band’s frontman also performed Speed together and sent the fans wild, with the buzz being echoed on social media platforms.
Internet users took to X to write,” I reached the age when I don't absorb *a lot* of new music, but sombr really is 1 of the best thing rn. Amazing vocals… even collaborations like the Smashing Pumpkins. sombr and Djo give me hope for the future of music.”
Another added, “Sombr bringing out Billy corgan brought me to tears of reverence and love,” as a third remarked, “I never knew I needed this.”
