Lil Nas X is now under an inpatient treatment program after his arrest and jail last month.
Due to the treatment, the pop star was unable to attend the pre-trial hearing in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 15.
According to Rolling Stone, his lawyers confirmed that he is “in treatment” at an undisclosed facility in another state.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shellie Samuels eased Lil Nas X’s release terms, allowing him to stay out of state as long as he continues inpatient treatment. The judge noted that if his care shifts to outpatient, the court will revisit the matter.
After the hearing, the rapper’s lawyer, Drew Findling, told reporters they were prioritising his personal, professional, and overall well-being.
The next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Meanwhile, Nas X’s lawyer stated, “He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. And we’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that.”
He further added, “He’s had a great life, and he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s going to get over.”
Lil Nas X was accused of stripping naked during a public outburst in Los Angeles, which escalated into a confrontation with police.
He faces four felony charges, including resisting an executive officer with force, along with misdemeanours tied to indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
