Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have broken off their years-long engagement, after dropping a bunch of hints here and there.
The Vampire Diaries star and the three-time Olympic gold medalist were last seen holding hands and running errands in Los Angeles on August 31 but things seem to have gone south soon after.
An insider close to the former partners told People magazine, “It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.”
The duo has not directly announced the split, but appear to have subtly confirmed the news on their social media after the 36-year-old and the 39-year-old removed the engagement posts from their respective Instagram pages.
Nina was also spotted on September 7 at the Toronto International Film Festival red carpet for her upcoming movie, Eternity, without her flashy diamond engagement ring, perhaps indicating that the wedding had been called off.
The split appears to be a shock even for the former fiancés, since only months ago Shaun had told the outlet that they were excited to be wedding planning and had gathered advice from friends and family about the process.
Notably, netizens are reading into the Canadian actress’s recent posts in order to figure out the nitty gritty of the split.
Nina recently posted a TikTok of herself with the audio stating that there are “to other women” trying to “fix” the man, sparking cheating speculation.
