Lady Gaga dedicates VMAs Artist of the Year win to audience

Lady Gaga was the most nominated artist this year at the MTV Video Music Awards, so it only made sense that she took home the Artist of the Year title.

The Poker Face singer was unmissable at the event, not just for her nominations but also her outfit: a dramatic black gown complete with floral lace embroidery, voluminous sleeves and a mermaid silhouette.

In her speech after accepting the prestigious award, the 14-time Grammy winner reflected on what it means to be an artist, and how it is a method of building understanding and community.

Gaga heartwarmingly wished that those listening were reminded of their worth, “as you navigate through the Mayhem of daily life.”

The Abracadabra singer then stated, “I dedicate this award to the audience,” going on to thank her fans, called “little monsters” for always supporting her.

Nearing the end of her speech, Gaga credited her fiancé Michael Polansky “To my partner in all things, Michael, creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream, and you have been my partner every step of the way. I dedicate this to you, to my love.”

The Shallow hitmaker then rushed off the stage, telling fans that she had to get back to Madison Square garden for the next stop in her tour.
