One of the biggest names in fashion, Giorgio Armani has tragically passed away at the age of 91.
Being confirmed by his team, he founded his Italian fashion company of the same name back in 1975.
A funeral chamber will be arranged for him on Saturday and Sunday in Milan. This will be followed by a private funeral, of which the date has not been specified.
The designer passed away while "surrounded by his loved ones", his team said.
"With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani," the statement continued.
The face of modern Italian style, he had the sharp mind of a businessman, as the company brought in 2.3 billion euros ($2.7 billion) per year.
Armani had been facing health issues for quite a long time, being forced to drop out of their Milan's Men's Fashion Week in June.
Social media has been flooded by grieving fans and admirers, mourning the loss of an icon.
One user wrote on X, “Giorgio Armani, the Emperor of fashion. What a dream to be able to wear his designs. Maybe next lifetime. RIP.”
