American TV presenter Howard Stern has spoken up after cancelling his comeback.
Howard was set to return to SiriusXM after weeks of promos and teasers on September 2. However, the Instagram account for the Stern Show posted new date for the comeback.
A picture was posted with the text “Tune in September 2 on Howard 100. stay tuned” and was edited to “Howard Stern will now speak Monday, September 8.”
It was announced after the presenter sent email to his 95 employees on September 1 announcing he was cancelling his scheduled September 2 return.
A source told the Daily Mail that this decision was made as a result of “frustrations over the new contract” that he has been negotiating with the company.
This year, Howard’s staggering $500 million contract will end after a 20-year run since he joined the channel in 2006.
A former staffer who interned at the show in 1990’s has spoken about Stern's much-anticipated return.
Steve Grillo, who wrote the book Gorilla Parts: Top Shelf Stories From the Most Famous Stern Intern Ever, said him including many old listeners of the show have lost interest.
Explaining why he lost listeners, Steve said, “Everything's going downhill because I would guess that he doesn't have the guidance that he did.”
Howard Stern has revealed he suffers from obsessive–compulsive disorder also known as OCD.
