Denzel Washington sat down for an interview to promote his latest film Highest 2 Lowest alongside A$AP Rocky and Spike Lee.
In a shocking reveal, he admitted, "I don’t watch movies, man. I really don’t. I’m just being honest with you. I don’t watch movies, man.”
"I don’t go to the movies. I don’t watch movies," he repeated, in response to which Rocky questioned, "Is it because you make 'em?"
"Probably. You know, I'm tired of movies, man,” he explained, and when asked how many films he has starred in, the star said, "Too many. I think 50."
Highest 2 Lowest is a reinterpretation of the original High to Low from iconic Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa.
The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival where Washington also received the honorary Palme d'Or.
Having dropped in select theatres on Friday, August 15, the film will become available to stream on AppleTV+ from September 5.
“When a powerful music mogul is targeted by a ransom plot, he is forced to fight for his family and legacy while jammed up in a life-or-death moral dilemma,” reads the synopsis.
