Riz Ahmed reveals health scare that hospitalised him

British-Pakistani actor Riz Ahmed has revealed how he was hospitalised after a health scare on set.

The Oscar-winning actor starred in the 2016 Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One in which he played the role of a pilot.

In conversation on on the Podcrushed podcast, Riz admitted that it was a difficult time for him.

“Around the time of taking on Sound of Metal, I had had a very intense kind of health-related experience myself”, he explained.

The actor said, “I was in the middle of filming, and my body kind of gave up on me. I was extremely exhausted. I was hospitalised for a brief period, and I really tried to regain my strength.”

He also added that had to rebuild himself from scratch which was “scary and intense”.

The illness remained unidentified as Riz, whose real name is Rizwan, said, “It really wasn’t very clear”.

Riz admitted that the undiagnosed illness made him uncertain about his career.

The Brit starred alongside Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, and Ben Mendelsohn in the movie directed by Gareth James Edwards.
