Jerry Adler, who was notable for his famous role in The Sopranos and Manhattan Murder Mystery, has passed away at the age of 96.
On Saturday, the news of his sad passing was confirmed by his close friend Frank J. Reilly through an update on X (formerly Twitter).
Frank revealed in the statement that Jerry passed away “at the age of 96.”
He also shared picture of the deceased, noting that fans know him for his “iconic roles,” starting in the entertainment industry “until he was 65.”
The actor had a long running career as a theatre artist while he stepped into the industry during the early 1990s with different films and television projects.
The 1993 Woody Allen’s mystery comedy became one of his significant roles which was followed by other projects including Rescue Me, Mad About You and The Good Wife and Transparent.
However, The Sopranos featured the departed soul as Herman "Hesh" Rabkin, which is considered as his breakthrough on the big screen.
In the HBO series, Jerry played a loan shark and a recording executive, who was amongst the most trusted people of Tony Soprano, starring James Gandolfini.
Jerry leaves behind his wife Joan Laxman and three children with Dolores Parker, whom he married earlier.
