Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie have joined forces in the upcoming romantic fantasy A Big Bold Beautiful Journey and the Irish star couldn’t be more complimentary about his leading lady.
The 49-year-old, celebrated for his role in In Bruges, gushed over the Barbie actress in an interview with Variety.
“She’s obviously a brilliant actress and the loveliest person,” he said.
“It was a joy every day to be on set with her. She’s so smart, so brilliant, but also kind and fun.”
The film centres on two strangers drawn together through an extraordinary adventure.
Though it touches on grief and loneliness, the Phone Booth star insisted it’s far from bleak.
“There’s no darkness in it,” he explained. “Those things may be painful, but they’re not dark experiences.”
Meanwhile the 35-year-old actress admitted she sensed the pair would click on screen, but only felt certain once filming was underway.
“You never know until you’re actually acting,” she confessed.
The Suicide Squad alum even ran a quiet background check on Farrell beforehand, revealing, “A lot of my closest girlfriends worked with him on Fantastic Beasts.
They always said, ‘He’s the best, the kindest.’ They couldn’t praise him enough.”

The upcoming movie is set to release in the US and UK on September 19, 2025.
