Tom Holland has opened up about a hidden struggle behind the glitz, revealing booze once threatened to derail his booming career.
The 29-year-old Spider-Man star, who is rumoured to have quietly tied the knot with Zendaya, admitted alcohol was “getting in the way” of his professional life before he made the life-changing decision to quit in January 2022.
Speaking candidly, Tom confessed he may not be where he is today had he continued drinking.
Despite enjoying huge success in recent years, he believes ditching alcohol helped him stay focused and grounded in the face of intense fame.
“Being an actor and living your life on the big stage can be really stressful,” he shared.
“For me, alcohol just made that worse.”
Since going sober, The Impossible actor says he feels like a new man, more confident, clear-headed and ready to take on whatever comes next.
Gone are the late-night boozy hangouts, replaced instead with calmer, more mindful get-togethers.
In fact, The Odyssey actor revealed that even his inner circle has followed suit.
What were once wild, alcohol-fuelled nights have now become surprisingly dry affairs, with none of his mates touching a drop.
Tom didn’t hold back in his warning either, calling alcohol “an incredibly dangerous thing” despite its social appeal.
And it seems he’s not alone as the star pointed to a wider shift among young people, with many turning their backs on booze in favour of healthier lifestyles.
