Mariah Carey, making her return with the comeback album Here For It All, is no stranger to being the center of attention.
Unfortunately, this time she seemed to play second fiddle during a recent stay at a luxury London hotel.
The 56-year-old singer was reportedly overshadowed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with the world leader clearly taking the spotlight.
An insider told The Sun that Zelensky’s team “made Mariah look small by comparison,” noting that she “was no longer the centre of attention” throughout her visit.
Furthermore, the security and hospitality arrangements for the president were described as “exceptional.”
“This wasn’t your average celebrity check-in and he was given the royal treatment during his stay," the source added.
Mariah, meanwhile, has always embraced her high-maintenance reputation, showing no hesitation in owning it.
In a previous interview, the All I Want For Christmas Is You singer stated that her demanding nature is well-earned after years of hard work.
"If I can’t be high-maintenance after working my a** off my entire life, oh, I’m sorry – I didn’t realize we all had to be low-maintenance, “she told the outlet.
The chart-topping artist also shrugged off being labelled a “diva,” saying it doesn’t bother her.
"Who the f*** cares?” she noted.
Mariah Carey’s latest album is Here For It All, which is set to be released on September 26, 2025.
