Pete Davidson takes aim at SNL crew in candid confession

Pete Davidson, now promoting his new film The Pickup with Eddie Murphy, has given a rare glimpse into his time at Saturday Night Live.

The 31-year-old comedian, widely known for his high-profile relationships, joined SNL in 2014 after only a few years in stand-up.

Speaking to The Breakfast Club, he revealed surprising behind-the-scenes insights into the show.

“I don’t think I got the warmest welcome. I was just this kid from Staten Island, and they’d been doing this for years,” he admitted.

The Rookie star suggested that some colleagues found his style and background difficult to accept.

“I probably annoyed a few people,” he laughed, adding that many of them had “worked their whole lives to get there” while he was still relatively new to comedy.

Davidson also lifted the lid on the show’s strict rules.

From appearance standards to limits on outside projects, he said the environment could be intense, and the pay modest compared with the demands.

“It was like the Yankees — no beards, certain clothes. You had to play by their rules,” he recalled. “It could get tense.”

Furthermore, the Bupkis creator revealed that working alongside the comedy legend made him rethink who he allows into his life.

“I used to have like 700 people in my green room,” he joked, “and then I’d wonder why some of them didn’t have my best interests at heart.”
