Cardi B, who is going strong in her relationship with Stefon Diggs, broke her silence to defend fellow musician Tyla in new X Spaces session.
As the 32-year-old rapper has been very vocal about facing challenges in her music career, Cardi spoke on behalf of the South Asian artist as well.
While addressing the burden of fame, Cardi admitted feeling body-shamed when she was pregnant.
She mentioned how people “been dragging the sh*t out of Tyla,” who doesn’t “even f**king address or talk about nothing.”
After facing severe backlash, the WAP hitmaker reached the conclusion that “people just don’t like celebrities.”
According to the rapper, the only way that they “like celebrities [is] if you don’t f**king say nothing at all” which is what the Water crooner does.
The hatred and backlash is thrown one’s way to “beat your energy and they beat your confidence… to the ground.”
The Up crooner claimed that whenever she scrolls down on a TikTok of the ART song maker, she finds netizens “talking sh*t” about her.
In 2020, the “Queen of Popiano” called herself “coloured South African,” avoiding questions by Charlamagne Tha God about her ethnicity during her appearance on The Breakfast Club.
This sparked a controversy, which was deemed “confusing” by Tyla herself as she felt her identity was being challenged.
Although Cardi mentioned the example of the singer, the entertainment industry is filled with other instances. Idols face criticism and backlash on daily basis which impact their mental health.
Body-shaming is seemingly the most common that has challenged many.
