Prince Andrew is facing renewed scrutiny after a photograph emerged showing convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the Royal Box at Royal Ascot in 2000, a space reserved exclusively for members of the Royal Family and their invited guests.
The image, reportedly discovered during a search of Epstein’s $79 million Manhattan townhouse, was taken on June 22, 2000, and features Prince Andrew alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Notably, Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother were also in attendance at the event that day.
According to The Mirror, the photograph was prominently displayed in Epstein’s home among images of other influential figures, including Richard Branson and Mick Jagger.
A source cited by the outlet suggested the display was intentional, designed to signify Epstein’s access to the British royal family.
“This was no accident,” the source said. “That image was positioned to be seen. It was a clear statement of the access and influence Jeff had cultivated. He had it displayed with photos of some of the world’s most powerful and wealthy men. His friendship with Andrew gave him credibility.”
The Royal Box at Ascot is known for its exclusivity, and admission is tightly controlled.
Epstein’s appearance in this space, particularly on a day when both the Queen and Queen Mother were present, raises further questions about his proximity to the British monarchy.
