After President Donald Trump’s outburst yesterday, CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King remained calm as she clapped back at the president’s remarks.

On Monday, August 5, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Gayle King’s career is over. She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP. She never had the courage to do so.”

Trump claimed that King has “no talent, no ratings, no strength.” However, the Emmy-winning broadcast journalist doesn’t seem to be losing sleep over it.

“Well, I’m sorry he feels that way,” she told TMZ on Tuesday. “But I’m just going to—I like my job, [I’ll] continue to do a good job.”

King was rather stunned to see herself among the star-studded list of Trump’s TV show targets.

“There’s a long list of people,” she said. “I’m in a group now with Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Stephen Colbert.”

Despite Trump implying that King should have supported him, the journalist simply repeated, “I’m sorry he feels that way,” before settling into the backseat of her waiting car.

Moreover, when asked about Trump attending the Super Bowl in February, King remarked, “He’s a sitting president and, as we see, he does what he wants, when he wants.”

During the 2020 election drama, King famously laughed off Trump’s claim that he was “the least racist person in the room,” saying, “First I lost my hearing, then I wondered, who else was in the room?”

So, Trump attacking King during his spree of lashing out at TV hosts feels more like a ceremonial ritual than surprising news.
