Christina Applegate sat down for an interview on SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast where she opened up about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
Having announced her diagnosis back in 2021, she revealed a tragic comment made about the condition by her 14-year-old daughter, Sadie.
“I get up because of her [my daughter]. She’s the reason I’m still here and trying,” she explained.
However, the pair “got into a big thing the other day”, during which her daughter claimed, “I missed who you were before you got sick.”
“That is just like a knife to the heart because I miss who I was before I got sick too. Very much,” Applegate admitted, growing emotional, “Every day of my life is at such a loss.”
She previously discussed her struggles with accepting her condition on Hoda Kotb’s podcast Making Space, “I’m angry at it still, and there’s a lot of us out there who are newly diagnosed that are not quite ready to accept this reality. I keep thinking that I’m just going to wake up from this nightmare, and it’s just going to be over.”
