Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming instalment, Avengers: Doomsday, is confirmed to be in production, and Anthony Mackie has given an update on where things stand.
The film, slated for release next year, is being helmed by the Russo brothers, the iconic duo of Joe and Anthony Russo.
It features an extensive cast, including the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Doom, while Mackie reprises his role as Sam Wilson, aka Captain America.
Speaking with ScreenRant, Mackie revealed that the production is still far from complete.
“No, we are in the midst of it,” Mackie said. “I mean, it's such a big, moving set piece, and it's such a big story. The best part of shooting a Marvel movie is that it's always an ever-evolving canvas. There are those staple pieces, and then there are the pieces that circulate throughout the course of the shoot.”
The actor added that production is going well and shared some offbeat thoughts on filming in London.
“London is very British, so that's a thing. A lot of sheep. Who knew there were so many sheep in London? There's a lot of sheep! It's crazy,” Mackie joked.
