Doja Cat surprisingly took a jab at Sydney Sweeney for her eyebrow raising advertisement, which has gone viral for its negative underlying message.
The Anyone But You actress partnered up with American Eagle for a campaign for jeans, but her monologue drew criticism for being racist and promoting harmful propaganda through wordplay.
In a TikTok video soon after the clip went viral, the Say So singer mocked the actress by repeating “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue,” with an exaggerated Southern accent.
The Get into It singer also captioned the post with a simple jab, seemingly writing the way she said it in the monologue with, “my jeans are blee.”
Doja could be seen snickering and making overemphasized facial expressions as she made fun of the line which Sydney had delivered in a more provocative manner.
The Euphoria star could be spotted zipping up the blue jeans around her midriff, while making the remark that has since opened up a conversation around white supremacy and eugenics.
Since the Grammy award winner has faced her share of controversies as well, some netizens ended up pointing out the backlash she has received, with one noting that it was the right message by the wrong messenger.
Sydney Sweeney and America Eagle is facing a wave of backlash due to the line featured in the campaign sounding like it promotes discourse of racial superiority with the “genes” wordplay.
