On July 23, the fans of the global hit group One Direction celebrated the 15th anniversary of the band’s formation and first after Liam Payne’s death.
The fans, on the occasion, reshared old content from when the band was still active, however there was a special piece of entertainment that caught everyone’s attention.
The band did a Pokémon advert in 2011 for the launch of Pokémon Black & White.
The game launched in September 2010 for Japanese gamers before a global release in 2011.
As a part of the campaign, the 5 members can be seen holding Nintendo DS consoles. The boys, who were still teenagers, also performed at the official launch of the game.
The group also starred in a series of videos where they were joined by giant versions of the Gen 5 starter Pokémon backstage on the X Factor tour.
“This collab was literally everything to me being obsessed with Pokémon”, one fan wrote on X.
“I can’t believe I live in a time where people didn’t know about the greatest collab of our generation”, another wrote.
