Madonna pays special tribute to pop queen Britney Spears in latest outing

Madonna sparked fan frenzy by paying a special tribute to her longtime friend and mentee, Britney Spears.

The 66-year-old legend stepped out at JFK Airport, wearing a $1050 Balenciaga X Britney Spears t-shirt with denim jeans.

The limited-edition tee, released last month, is co-designed by Britney and features her signature on the back.

However, this isn’t the first time the Grammy winner has honoured Britney. She rocked a bedazzled ‘Britney’ tee to a NYC party in 2000.

The Material Girl singer has long mentored the 43-year-old popstar, especially after her very public breakup with Justin Timberlake.

In her memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney recalled Madonna’s guidance during her darkest days: “Madonna’s supreme confidence helped me see a lot about my situation with fresh eyes.”

She added, “She told me I should be sure to take time out for my soul, and I tried to do that. She modelled a type of strength that I needed to see,”

Their bond was cemented by the iconic 2003 VMA kiss, which was also passed along to Christina Aguilera during the trio’s medley performance of Like a Virgin and Hollywood.
