Donald Trump takes shots at A-list Hollywood star

The president of United States Donald Trump has been vocal with his replies to celebrities who have opposed him.

From Beyonce to Taylor Swift, the US leader has criticised the views of famous celebrities. At the same time, he has been appreciative of entertainers who have been reported to be his supporters, like Sydney Sweeney.

Now, Trump has taken shots at another leading Hollywood man.

Tom Hanks was due to receive an award for being an “outstanding citizen” at the West Point military academy, which has now been cancelled.

Donald Trump responded to the news writing on the Truth Social platform saying, “Our great West Point (getting greater all the time!) has smartly cancelled the Award Ceremony for actor Tom Hanks.”

Calling Tom “woke” and “destructive”, the president said we do not need such recipients of cherished American Awards.

He also expressed his desire for other awards to follow suit saying, “Hopefully the Academy Awards, and other Fake Award Shows, will review their Standards and Practices in the name of Fairness and Justice.”

The legendary actor was due to receive the award on September 25 in a ceremony which has been cancelled.
