Joan Cusack makes rare family appearance amid life away from Hollywood

Joan Cusack is offering a rare glimpse into her private family life as she returns to the public eye ahead of the release of Toy Story 5.

The Emmy-winning actress recently attended the film’s premiere, marking one of her first major red carpet appearances in more than a decade. 

Cusack was joined by her husband, attorney Richard Burke, with whom she has shared a largely private life since stepping away from Hollywood's spotlight.

Speaking about her decision to leave Los Angeles and settle in Chicago, Cusack said she treasures the opportunity to live a more ordinary life. 

According to Daily Mail, the actress explained that while she feels honored to have enjoyed a successful career in entertainment, raising her family away from the pressures of Hollywood has been “priceless.” 

Moreover, she shares two sons, Dylan and Miles, with Burke, whom she married in 1996.

Cusack has kept a relatively low profile in recent years, with few public appearances since the mid-2010s. 

As per the outlet, her return to the red carpet for Toy Story 5 has delighted longtime fans, many of whom remember her acclaimed performances in films such as Working Girl, In & Out, School of Rock, and the Toy Story franchise.

The actress reprises her role as Jessie, the beloved cowgirl toy she first voiced in 1999’s Toy Story 2. 

Furthermore, the upcoming film reunites several original cast members and is set to arrive in theaters on June 19.
