Rosemary Gunn, who joined Opera Australia in 1972, passed away after her four-decade long career.

The Scottish-born crooner delighted fans with her versatility as she took over the country’s biggest stages.

The sad passing of the songstress was confirmed by Opera Australia.

The statement admitted that Vale Rosemary Gunn “won the hearts of both colleagues and audience” during her career spanning over four decades.

It was revealed that Rosemary was a “was a valued member of Opera Australia’s Principals and an excellent singer.”

As soon as the news was announced, fans began pouring in their tributes for the late vocalist, who retired in 2008.

A fellow worker wrote online: “She was the loveliest colleague, considerate and easy to work with… I never heard her speak an ill word of anybody. RIP dear one.”

Another netizen was moved by the terribly “sad news! A wonderful performer and an absolute pro.”

During her professional journey, the departed soul worked alongside some of the most renowned performers of Australia and New Zealand.

It is to be noted that the statement did not reveal the Australian singer’s actual cause of death.

She leaves behind her husband Graeme Williams, who is notable for being a veteran chorister with the company.
