Puerto Rico is in full preparation to welcome native singer Bad Bunny as he gets ready to kick off his residency.

Born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, he will be taking on a set of 30 concerts that will be dedicated to the culture, history and pride of the island.

The first nine shows will only cater to Puerto Ricans while the rest will invite fans from all over the world to promote its culture.

All of the shows will be taking place at the 18,500-seat arena Coliseo de Puerto Rico, and they are all sold out.

Island historian, Jorell Meléndez-Badillo says this residency “signals that Benito is speaking personally to Puerto Ricans first and foremost.”

Dean of the School of Arts, Design and Creative Industries at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, Javier J. Hernández Acosta says the promotion of arts and culture is the best way to boost the economy.

Fan of the singer, Gilda Santos told CNN, “(I’m) excited, super excited, super happy to see Bad Bunny live here in Puerto Rico, which is a unique experience that can only be had in Puerto Rico. Seeing Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico isn’t the same as seeing him in another part of the world.”

Another listener named Jackeline Carrasquillo claimed, “Bad Bunny has been unique, unique, in carrying the name of Puerto Rico high. And now with this residency, we are here, so that they know that Puerto Rico is the island of enchantment.”
