Britney Spears plays key role in Benny Blanco’s career turn: Here's how

Benny Blanco recently made a major revelation about how he got his break in the pop music industry.

The American songwriter appeared on the Therapuss podcast, hosted by Jake Shane, where he revealed that Britney Spears played a significant role in kick-starting his music career.

The 37-year-old singer, also known for his romance with American singer Selena Gomez, disclosed that his first major project involved working with the Criminal singer.

“The first, like, big pop thing that I ever worked on was Britney Spears,” he said.

For the unversed, the Lonely vocalist collaborated with Spears on her 2008 hit track Circus, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over 3.2 million digital copies.

The duo reunited again in 2011 for the song Drop Dead Beautiful, from the songstress’ seventh studio album, Femme Fatale.

Notably, Blanco has worked with some of the biggest names in the pop industry, including Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Maroon 5.

Furthermore, the Eastside singer admitted that he sometimes forgets the songs he has worked on.

“Sometimes I’m in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, this song’s so good.’ And I Shazam it, and then it’s my own song,” the record producer joked.
