Emmy-winning American actress Jennifer Aniston has been cast in a 10-episode drama-comedy series on Apple TV+ based on Jennette McCurdy's bestselling memoir.
Aniston will star as the lead in the show, I’m Glad My Mom Died.
The memoir explores the tumultuous relationship McCurdy shared with her domineering mother.
The Apple TV+ series will unveil the bizarre challenges a former child actor faced due to her mother.
After the announcement of Aniston starring in the show, McCurdy took to Instagram to praise the actress.
"So excited + honoured that I get to create, write and showrun this show and work with this incredible group of people,” she wrote.
The story of the memoir follows a “heartbreaking and hilarious” journey that centres around an 18-year-old actress, according to the official logline.
The teen actress is caught in the agony of a hit kids’ show as she navigates the complexities of her narcissistic mother, portrayed by Aniston.
The show also marks Aniston’s growing collaboration with Apple, as she recently confirmed another season of her ongoing role in the critically acclaimed drama series The Morning Show.
