Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt stars in the F1 movie directed by Joseph Kosinski, which was filmed at Grand Prix tracks worldwide, including the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Recently, the Abu Dhabi Film Commission and Creative Media Authority released a short promotional video featuring the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Yas Marina Circuit, which facilitated a unique filming environment for F1: The Movie.
In December 2024, Pitt and his co-star Damson Idris teamed up to spend 29 days in total filming at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on the Yas Marina Circuit.
According to the statement, Pitt and Idris were seen in the emirate on three separate occasions, supported by local production partner Epic Films.
F1 is the first film to ever be camera-rolled during a live Grand Prix race.
The movie was also captured at other tracks, including the British Grand Prix, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, as well as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Watch the video, as Kosinski calls the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island—just east of Abu Dhabi—which is believed to be the most expensive Formula One track ever built, an “ideal place to film.”
Moreover, hear F1 executive producer Tim Bampton underline the technical facts, and the Oscar winner sharing his “amazing experience.”
