Sabrina Carpenter’s album cover release had onlookers split from the moment it dropped, with people having a range of strong reactions over the underlying message it was sending.
Since the reception of the record was primarily negative and triggering to a certain group of people, the Bad for Business singer unveiled an alternative cover with a sarcastic note.
In the new black-and-white image, the two-time Grammy winner could be seen looking off to the side while grabbing a suited-up man’s shoulder in an image that resembled Marilyn Monroe and her husband Arthur Miller.
After telling fans that she had signed copies of the upcoming album titled Man’s Best Friend Sabrina noted, ‘& here is a new alternate cover approved by God, available now on my website” with a white heart.
The substitute cover marks a stark contrast to the original, which showed the Sue Me crooner on her knees, looking at the camera as a man who was mostly out of frame grabbed her hair.
Almost as soon as it dropped, the picture divided the internet into three categories, with two of them debating the impact of Sabrina’s cover and title on feminism.
While a vast majority of the public was outraged, including victims of domestic abuse calling it things like “regressive” and triggering, others viewed it as a female artist being comfortable in their sexuality.
A third category of people maintained that the cover was not making a statement and wasn’t taking any ulterior stance, and should be taken lightheartedly.
Man’s Best Friend is set to release soon, with the date on Sabrina Carpenter’s official website noting that it will be out on August 29, 2025.
