Lewis Capaldi details ‘panic attack’ that nearly ended his career

Lewis Capaldi has opened up about the worst moment of his music career and it isn’t his uncompleted Glastonbury 2023 set.

The 28-year-old Scottish hitmaker appeared on This Past Weekend podcast and candidly spoke about struggles with Tourette’s and a two-year hiatus on the music scene.

Opening about the worst moment of his career, the young music icon revealed that he was performing in Chicago just days before Glastonbury 2023 and had a “similar or probably worse episode”.

The Someone You Loved singer said, “I couldn't come back and finish a song. It was a crazy panic attack and mental episode,” adding that it was way worse than what happened at Glastonbury.

He added that the Glastonbury incident was a blessing in disguise, saying, “When I came off stage, I had a weird feeling that everything’s alright now, I can actually go and get help and fix myself for the next two years.”

The singer has fans in tears after he made a comeback at Glastonbury 2025 and declared it to be a “mental win” for him.

Prior to his comeback, Lewis also released a new song, Survive, detailing his struggles of the last two years.

Lewis Capaldi is a 28-year-old singer-songwriter from Scotland. He isn't married, however, the hitmaker is in a relationship with Scottish actress Ellie MacDowall since June 2023.
