Mega YouTuber MrBeast is responding to criticism from fellow creators and viewers for his AI-powered thumbnail tool.
It was developed in partnership with Viewstats, and allows creators to create a thumbnail using AI taking inspiration from already well received, authentic thumbnails.
The software was meant to help smaller creators, charging a sum of $80 per month, which is less than what is charged by artists who create thumbnails.
However, big creators like JackSepticEye and PointCrow soon called out the creation.
The former took to X to write, “What the actual f***… and he used my logo… F*** AI.”
The latter stated, “You’ve made something that can steal my (and my artists') hard work without a thought.”
After engaging in conversation with PointCrow, MrBeast reflected over the issues, “Faceswap should only be used to swap your face on YOUR thumbnail, obviously not others. My goal is to build tools to level the playing field… not to replace artists.”
Even though Viewstats is still active and available for use, they made their intentions clear to address the ethical concerns underlying the software.
