Since the release of his latest project, there have been some startling claims coming out of Lil Wayne’s camp.
The rapper released his fourteenth solo studio album earlier this month, which is the sixth instalment in the highly successful Tha Carter series.
Tha Carter VI features multiple collaborations between Wayne and artists like BigXThaPlug, Wyclef Jean, Mannie Fresh and Nicki Minaj.
Despite the big names, Weezy’s latest offering failed to secure the top spot on the Billboard charts.
However, that did not hinder Wayne from publicly stating he is more focused on artistic freedom rather than commercial success.
Then, on Father’s Day, Reginae Carter went online to label her dad’s haters as “kids” and said that they do not like his new project because they “can’t get on TikTok and do a f****** dance to it.”
The influencer further explained that her pop’s work highlights “real stuff,” which the younger generation cannot comprehend.
A few days later, Wayne’s son Lil Novi claimed that his father wrote “most” of Drake’s songs and even went on to assert that Drizzy would be nothing without Weezy.
The New Orleans native made another revelation on Minaj’s social media over the weekend by telling his longtime collaborator that he and Birdman pioneered face tattoos in hip-hop.
“We started this tattoo wave,” the artist said to the Pink Friday hitmaker in an Instagram Live session and further claimed that singer Lizzo calls him her “GOAT.”
Wayne also gave a shout-out to all his Libra fans, with Minaj crowning him the “original rockstar” of rap.
Yes, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne teamed up on the Banned From NO remix, which is a bonus track on Tha Carter VI.
