Lil Wayne is receiving familial support after his latest project did not cause quite as much buzz as he might have expected.
The rapper released his fourteenth solo studio album earlier this month, which is the sixth instalment in the highly successful Tha Carter series.
Tha Carter VI features multiple collaborations between Wayne and artists like BigXThaPlug, Wyclef Jean, Mannie Fresh and Bono.
Despite the big names, Weezy’s latest offering failed to secure the top spot on the Billboard charts, with critics also giving it mixed reviews.
However, the daughter of the 42-year-old came out to support her dad on Father’s Day and let his critics know what she thinks of them.
Reginae Carter labelled the haters as “kids” and claimed that they do not like her pop’s new project because they “can’t get on TikTok and do a f****** dance to it.”
The influencer further explained that her father’s work highlights “real stuff” which the younger generation cannot comprehend.
“Y’all need to take y’all minds out of the TikTok world and get to the real bag where it is,” she continued.
Wayne himself has publicly stated he is more focused on artistic freedom rather than commercial success.
