According to multiple news outlets, Tha Carter VI sold 114,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release, which is 2,000 units fewer than the original Carter album.
The project has received mixed reviews from fans and critics, leading Wayne to publicly state he is more focused on artistic freedom rather than commercial success.
The 42-year-old also went on record to say his latest project can be perceived as a flop or a comeback and he is at “peace” with either scenario.
