Looks like Kendrick Lamar was not willing to take any chances during his recent trip to Toronto.

K.Dot and SZA are currently co-headlining their Grand National Tour, which was announced last December to further promote the 37-year-old’s Grammy-winning album, GNX.

Last week, the rapper made his tour stop in his bitter rival’s hometown with heavy security to perform two concerts at the Rogers Centre.

This was Lamar’s first arrival in Drizzy’s territory since the intensification of their rivalry in 2024.

Understandably, local authorities were on high alert and took preventive measures to keep the city’s peace.

One of the measures was to prevent Drake’s die-hard followers, known as the OVO fanbase, from causing disruption at the concert site.

That’s not all, however, as podcaster DJ Akademiks posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, of a Toronto neighbourhood with a cop car outside one of the houses.

Along with the clip, the hip-hop commentator alleged that the Compton native put police patrol outside Drake’s home to ensure his safety.

Akademiks' claim was met with scepticism, with some questioning why Lamar would take such drastic measures.

Nonetheless, it is worth remembering the high-profile feud never turned into a gangster rap beef and both artists did not break any laws.

Who is DJ Akademiks?

Livingston Allen, widely known as DJ Akademiks, is a prominent streamer and YouTuber whose channel has become a go-to source for all things hip-hop. He is also the host of the podcast Off the Record with DJ Akademiks on Spotify.
