King Charles rushes to Sophies rescue mid-curtsey

An awkward moment was narrowly avoided, thanks to a quick catch by King Charles himself.

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, turned heads at the Royal Windsor Flower Show on June 7, dazzling in a vibrant blue floral dress and her signature poise.

But her elegant entrance took a tiny tumble when she nearly lost her shoe mid-curtsey to her brother-in-law, the King.

Wearing her go-to Penelope Chilvers 'Colina' wedges, Sophie, 60, dipped into a graceful curtsey, but dipped just a little too low.

The shoes, known for blending style and practicality, suddenly betrayed her. Luckily, King Charles, ever the gentleman, was photographed holding her arms to steady her, preventing a full-on embarrassing moment.

Despite the near mishap, Sophie remained composed, flashing a sweet smile as if nothing had happened.

She looked effortlessly regal in a ME + EM bluebell-print midi dress, paired with a tailored Frame navy corduroy blazer, the perfect combo for a posh garden party.

Nude wedges finished the look, while her hair was pulled back into a polished ponytail, showing off dainty Monica Vinader stacking rings.

The moment sparked buzz, not just for the shoe slip but also for how rare it is to see Sophie and King Charles at a public engagement together.

The two were all smiles as they mingled with celebrity gardener Alan Titchmarsh, chatting plants and petals in the sunshine.
