Blake Lively, who sued her director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment, marked a major win after the $400 million lawsuit against her was tossed by the Judge.
The 37-year-old shared a statement on her Instagram story after the “retaliatory lawsuit” was dismissed.
The Betty Buzz owner revealed she “felt the pain” when the case was initially filed against her.
She took the opportunity to highlight those “who don’t have the resources to fight back,” pledging to remain “resolved” in this fight.
The Savages star noted that this battle will help her to “stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves.”
Blake expressed her gratitude for all those who supported her during this tough phase.
The entrepreneur’s attorneys released a statement on the occasion, calling the decision a “total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively” and her husband Ryan Reynolds.
The Gossip Girl alum’s legal team noted that they have been saying it “from day one, this $400 million lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it.”
Judge Lewis J. Liman noted in the court documents that Justin’s team have not maintained if “Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her complaint, which are privileged.”
The accusations by the Wayfarer Parties against Ryan, Solane and the Times do not fulfil the requirement “to be liable for defamation under applicable law.”
After sharing screen together in It Ends With Us, Blake filed a sexual harassment suit in December, 2024 against her co-star and director, Justin.
The filmmaker denied the allegations and filed a counter suit against the actress and the Deadpool & Wolverine star.
