King Charles may not be speaking to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle right now, but this week he had a surprise reunion with someone from their big day, and barely anyone noticed.
The 76-year-old monarch stepped out for a royal engagement at SXSW London, a creative festival in East London.
While greeting attendees, Charles was seen laughing and chatting with Karen Gibson, the conductor of The Kingdom Choir, the same choir that performed at Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in 2018.
Yep, the King may have distanced himself from the Sussexes, but he was all smiles with someone who helped shape one of their most iconic moments.
Interestingly, it was actually King Charles who first suggested the choir for the wedding.
Prince Harry himself confirmed this in the documentary Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70, saying: “More help from my dad on that one.”
This wasn’t their first reunion either. Charles and Karen Gibson also met at a Buckingham Palace garden party back in 2018.
So while royal tensions may still be high, it seems some wedding ties are harder to shake than others.
