Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once again facing backlash, this time for allegedly “breaking their own rules” around privacy after releasing a new photo of Princess Lilibet to mark her fourth birthday.
The black-and-white image shows Meghan cuddling her daughter, whose face is only partially obscured by her mother’s hair.
Royal commentator Angela Levin took to X to call out the apparent contradiction, writing: “They wanted privacy and to keep their children out of focus. And certainly wouldn't show their daughter's face only slightly hidden... They've broken their own rules.”
The Sussexes have long emphasized their desire to protect their children from media attention, with past birthdays celebrated with limited or delayed public updates.
Lilibet’s birth in 2021 was announced only after a brief delay, and photos of her have remained rare ever since.
The latest criticism comes just days after Meghan posted a viral hospital dance video with Harry, recorded shortly before Lilibet’s birth.
While some fans praised the couple for embracing joyful family moments, others have accused them of hypocrisy, pointing to the contrast between their calls for privacy and their recent posts.
