Monica Bellucci is set to be honoured with a Special International Award at the upcoming Taormina Film Festival.
According to Deadline, the award is part of 25th anniversary celebrations of Malèna which starred the legendary actress alongside Giuseppe Sulfaro.
The festival’s 2025 official poster is also dedicated to the World War II drama which was released on 27 October, 2000.
Bellucci played a woman whose beauty sparked suspicion in her small Sicilian town while her husband was away for war.
The Italian icon will receive the award during a gala event at the ancient amphitheatre in Taormina, followed by a screening of the film.
The festival’s organisers described the 60-year-old as one of cinema's “most famous and fascinating icons” and praised her "magnetic charisma, innate elegance and unique expressive intensity."
The event is organised by the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation and will take place from June 10 to 14 in the hilltop Sicilian town.
The outlet also reports that the veteran Australian actor Geoffrey Rush will also receive the event’s Excellence Award.
The famous Italian beauty graced Hollywood screens with her performances in movies such as Matrix: Reloaded and Spectre.
