Miley Cyrus ninth album ‘Something Beautiful’ out now
Miley Cyrus gave a surprise performance at the album release event
The pop star Miley Cyrus has returned with her ninth and much-awaited album in her twenty-year career, titled Something Beautiful, released on Friday, May 30.
The Grammy winner first introduced the album earlier this week to a crowd of about 100 fans at an exclusive launch event at Chateau Marmont. At the event, Cyrus surprised attendees with an unexpected performance of songs from her new album.
The Flowers hitmaker performed Something Beautiful tracks including “Easy Lover,” “More to Lose,” and “End of the World,” along with surprise renditions of her past hits “Flowers” and “The Climb.”
Cyrus described her latest project as “a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy” and “a one-of-a-kind pop opera.”
At the event, the former Hannah Montana star said the new album is about taking life experiences, even painful ones we want to cast aside, and wrapping them in “beautiful bows and ribbons,” learning to appreciate them as gifts for the rest of our lives.
The singer will also release an accompanying visual film, which premieres on June 6 at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The chart-topping singer co-produced the album with Shawn Everett, featuring contributions from the likes of Brittany Howard (on “Walk of Fame”) and Naomi Campbell (on “Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved”).
Moreover, Cyrus’s boyfriend, Shawn Maxx Morando, also contributed to the album, which a press release describes as “introspective, sonically adventurous, and emotionally grounded.”
