Tory Lanez’s lawyers seemingly have nothing to hide, as their latest move makes much of the evidence in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case public.
The rapper’s legal team, along with the Hurts Me singer himself, have maintained his innocence since the beginning of the trial, and have now released never before seen evidence to the public.
The attorneys put forth footage in the form of images and videos, along with an extensive 35-page presentation on a website called 36hourslater.com on May 29.
Tory’s lawyers are seeking to get his 10-year sentence overturned, alleging that the Say It rapper has been wrongfully convicted, and that it was actually the Wanna Be singer’s own friend, Kelsey, who fired the weapon.
The account was backed up by an independent eyewitness, Sean Kelly, but the jury was relentless and placed the Canadian rapper, whose real name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, into prison for first degree assault, among other charges.
A bodyguard, Bradlie James, has also come out to claim that he overheard Kelsey admit to using the firearm before Tory stepped in.
Additionally, a link for a petition called “Pardon Tory Lanez: Urge Governor Newsom to Correct a Deep Injustice,” was posted by fellow rapper Drake and model Amber Rose, in an attempt to show solidarity.
Tory Lanez has reportedly been transferred to California Men's Colony (CMC), which is located a short distance away from where he was stabbed.
The rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023 after being found guilty of gross negligence in the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
