As Prince William inches closer to the British throne, his life is a masterclass in regal luxury with his beloved wife Princess Kate by his side.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, the future King and Queen, are reportedly the proud owners of several grand royal estates.
While the parents-of-three's first marital home was a rented cottage on the Bodargan Estate in Anglesey, where they also welcomed their first child Prince George. The couple first moved into their very own home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, in 2015.
Anmer Hall
More of a giant royal mansion on the royal’s famous Sandringham Estate, Anmer Hall is a two-storied Georgian home built in the 18th century.
It is especially important to the much-loved royal couple as it was a wedding gift to them from the late Queen Elizabeth.
The property was first used by the Duke and Duchess of Kent, before housing King Charles’ friend Hugh van Cutsem, and eventually underwent a £1.5 million renovation before WIlliam and Kate moved in with their two kids George and a Princess Charlotte.
William and Kate then moved into their ‘official residence’, Apartment 1A at the Kensington Palace, which is obviously not an apartment at all!
Located in the Kensington Palace, Apartment 1A is reportedly built on 4 storeys boasting 20 rooms, including multiple drawing and reception rooms for the royals!
Adelaide Cottage
The couple lived here from 2017 to 2022, before opting for a more relaxed and normal family life for their three kids, George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and moving to a more country environment at the Adelaide Cottage on Windsor Castle grounds, where they have put down their roots for now.
The seemingly ‘humble’ property may be a ‘cottage, with a rich history; it was built in 1831 for William IV’s wife Queen Adelaide, was a favourite morning spot for Queen Victoria, and Princess Margaret’s ‘lover’ Peter Townsend even lived there as an equerry to King George VI.
Highgrove
Famously known as one of King Charles’ favourite places, and also where he courted the now-Queen Camilla in their early years, Highgrove is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. Since Charles’ ascension, this means Highgrove now belongs to Prince William as the Duke of Cornwall, and Charles actually has to pay rent to his son
Tam-Na-Ghar
This little known property is also reported owned by Prince William, after it was gifted to him by his great-grandmother, the Queen Mother, when she passed in 2002.
Located on the late Queen’s beloved Balmoral Estate, the three-bedroom Tam-Na-Ghar is also close to King Charles’ home Birkhall, but has not yet been used extensively by William and Kate.
